Senior 3D Software Specialist

Primary responsibilities:

  • Design and implement an enterprise level application consistent with the company's overall strategy and the overall technical architecture.
  • Independently design, code and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex changes.
  • Assist QA in understanding the architecture in establishing high level testing plans and methodology.
  • Document and communicate the design for an offshore distributed development team.
  • Work closely with business staff to develop facility with subject-matter.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for less senior developers.
  • Participate in Design/Code reviews, both as presenter and as reviewer, to ensure consistency in architecture and design/code practices.
  • Review business and technical requirements, project scope, and project plan, as well as to functional and technical designs.
  • Estimate engineering effort for your designs.
  • Collaborate effectively with other engineers to innovatively solve complex problems and deliver end-to-end quality in terms of both customer experience and technology.

Required Experience:

  • Expert in Object-Oriented Design and Development (6 years).
  • Development experience in C++ and .Net (4 years), should be able to write neat and high performance code, should be about to detect memory leaks and performance bottlenecks.
  • Should have played a key development role in design and implement various computation geometry algorithms.
  • Expert in 3D computational geometry, the following should be your daily terms: SVD, Monte Carlo, Nurbs, Self intersection, Winged Edge, Water tight, Outlier, Tessellation, Resolution reduction.
  • Experience applying Design Patterns.
  • Working knowledge of UML.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently, balance numerous short term issues with longer term deliverables and be willing to deal with rapidly changing requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are absolutely necessary, given the internationally distributed team.
  • Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with non-technical audiences including product managers and business leaders on topics ranging from product strategy to technology and development strategy.
  • Experience in Test Driven Development.
  • Demonstrated experience working through the full product cycle - including design, coding, and unit testing of scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant web applications (5 years).
  • Minimum MS in Computer Science or related field; PhD preferred

  • Agile Methods.
  • Working on a distributed development project, including offshore developers.
