QA Manager

Join this well funded ground floor startup with large growth potential in an expanding market; be part of the core team for this exciting company.  You will be one of the lead developers of internet and enterprise applications in the growing area of benefits. 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, manage and integrate a QMS for all project tasks and lines of business.
  • Serve as the primary quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, error reporting, Service Level Agreement (SLA) and continuous improvement.
  • Support concurrent work processing efforts by participating in design development projects representing quality assurance and the customer.
  • Design, implement and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and evaluation.
  • Establish and implement metrics (Service Level Agreement, Key Performance Indicators, error rates, etc.) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound process improvement and personnel decisions.
  • Analyze statistical data and perform root-cause analysis and other problem solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Interact with customers to identify opportunities to improve quality and establish feedback with frontline personnel, supervisory staff, State employees and training personnel.
  • Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Assist in development of quality planning methods and help develop process certification standards for work process/task completion.

Required Experience:

  • Former QA management and hands on QA experience (6 years)
  • Background in quality assurance/quality control methods, process improvement programs and procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including network, VPN, security, large data storage, security email server, source code control and document server is a plus
  • Technical knowledge of network, storage and PC/Unix operating systems
  • Website design background preferred
  • Knowledge of database management experience preferred (e.g. MySQL, MS SQL Server)
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, work independently, balance numerous short term issues with longer term deliverables and be willing to deal with rapidly changing requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are absolutely necessary, given the internationally distributed team.
  • Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with non-technical audiences including product managers and business leaders on topics ranging from product strategy to technology and development strategy.
  • Knowledge of ISO and HIPPA is a plus
